Atomic Groove

Since 1995, Atomic Groove has been San Diego's go-to variety dance band — five core pros (led by vocalist Carrie Weiland) who can scale up with horns, percussion, extra singers, and even the AG Fly Girlz dancers when the party demands it.

Their now-famous Friday Happy Hour at the Belly Up has been running nearly every week since 2004 — a standing invitation to knock off work early, connect to The Groove, and dance to everything from yesterday's classics to today's charts. It's less a gig than a North County institution.

Between the happy hours, the band works the special-event circuit — galas, fundraisers, weddings — and keeps racking up local honors, from San Diego A-List 'Best Music' finalist spots to Ranch & Coast 'Best Local Band' nods.
